Air-Fryer Friendly Recipes To Try Out This Winter Season

Jan 10, 2023 - Fareed Ahmad

Air fryers are a saviour for those fast-paced people who want to balance their nutrition intake for a holistic lifestyle at each step.

An air fryer helps make cakes or fried foods healthier and keeps the kitchen clean and oil-free. Air fryers are excellent for busy individuals who want to try healthy yet scrumptious recipes this Winter.

Here are some of the easiest and most seasoned air-fryer recipes to try this Winter.

Air Fryer Crispy Sugar Cookie

Air fryer crispy sugar cookies are simple to make and are loaded with flavours. The combination of vanilla extract, sugar, and butter makes the cookies ideal for winter. Air frying adds the right amount of crispiness to the exterior while ensuring a soft and chewy inside.

  • Flour (one can also use gluten-free flour to make it healthier)
  • Baking powder to add fluffiness to the cookies
  • Salt to enhance the flavour
  • Unsalted butter
  • White or brown granulated sugar
  • Egg to bind all ingredients together and add a nice texture
  • Vanilla extract to infuse delicious flavours
  • Rainbow sprinkles for a zing

Step 1: One needs to pre-heat the air fryer to ensure the cookies cook evenly and don't stick to the bottom basket. Also, the basket must be lined with a good-quality baking paper.

Step 2: A scoop spoon should be used to get uniform-looking cookies from the batter. If one doesn't have a scoop spoon, one can use their hand or spoons to form cookie balls.

Step 3: The cookie dough balls should be flattened using the bottom of a glass to prevent too much puffiness.

Step 4: The space between cookies should be enough to allow hot air circulation and prevent the cookies from sticking together.

Step 5: The cookies should be allowed to cool properly on a wire rack to ensure they are firm and not fragile while serving.

Air fryer sponge cake

Soft, light, and utterly delicious, this cake can be made with just a limited number of pantry staples. It is rich and buttery and flaunts a delicate vanilla flavour.

  • Plain flour with baking soda or self-raising flour
  • Caster sugar
  • Unsalted butter
  • Semi-skimmed milk
  • Medium eggs
  • Vanilla powder or essence
  • Icing sugar
  • Additional toppings as required

Step 1: One must pre-heat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C).

Step 2: One should mist the cake pan with a cake release and line the bottom with baking paper.

Step 3: The sugar and flour should be mixed in a mixing bowl, and eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla essence should be added. The ingredients must be beaten using a stand or electric hand mixer to make a smooth batter.

Step 4: The batter should be transferred to the cake pan and placed in the air fryer. It needs to be cooked at 160°C for about 30 minutes.

Step 5: It should be allowed to cool for five minutes in the cake pan, and then the cake should be inverted onto a cooling rack.

One can use whichever flavour of cream—vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or even the occasional pineapple—their family loves on top.
